The value of hard work and dedication can often be underrated, but Ben Diggs, a recent graduate of the Francis Howell School District’s (FHSD) Heritage Landing Alternative Program, can certainly attest to what it earned him – a scholarship. The mikeroweWORKS Foundation, began by television star Mike Rowe (of Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs” and currently CNN’s “Somebody’s Gotta Do It”), honors those who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty while getting the job done, offering financial assistance to those who seek training in skilled trades.
