Hello My Name Is... Dr. Anthony Haan

Dr. Haan brings several years of educational and administrative experience to FHSD. Prior to joining Heritage, Dr. Haan served as the assistant principal at Castlio Elementary where he provided instructional leadership that promotes collaborative work in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to increase student achievement by analyzing classroom data to guide instruction. As a leader in the PLC process, he led grade level teams in increasing MAP and End of Course scores building-wide utilizing a PLC model and a Response to Intervention process.

While at Castlio, Dr. Haan helped to develop a building level Character Education Plan through the Leadership Academy for Character. In addition to developing a Character Education Plan, Haan has also worked collaboratively with building staff to develop school-wide behavior plan incorporating school-wide expectations. Taking a leadership role, Haan has helped to facilitate and lead building programs such as Technology, Behavior, Literacy Team, Safety Team and Professional Development.

Prior to FHSD, Dr. Haan served in several administrative positions in the Lincoln County (Troy) R-III School District. He was the building principal at Hawk Point Elementary (2001-2004), assistant principal at Boone/Lincoln Elementary (2004-2006) and New Horizon’s High School (2006-2010). Haan was also a third grade teacher at Claude Brown Elementary, as well as a second grade teacher at Hawk Point Elementary before accepting school administrative positions.

Dr. Haan holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University, a Specialist in Educational Administration degree from Lindenwood University, a Missouri Principal’s Certificate from Lindenwood University, a master of science degree in Classroom Teaching from Missouri Baptist University, a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from Missouri Baptist University and an associate of science degree in Elementary Education from Sauk Valley Community College.
